Aubagne:A 14-year-old student opened fire at the Lakanal school in Aubagne, France, injuring both the principal and a teacher. The incident was confirmed by the French Minister of National Education, Édouard Geffray.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the teenager used a shotgun in the attack, targeting the 53-year-old principal and a 37-year-old teacher. Witnesses reported hearing four shots, and it was noted that the teacher's injuries were caused by pellets that ricocheted off the walls.
Both victims sustained injuries to the thighs and pelvis, but no students were harmed. The suspect was apprehended at the scene, and authorities have launched an investigation into "attempted murder" to uncover the details surrounding the attack.
A police source clarified that the shooting was not linked to the student protests occurring in France since late September, and no protests were taking place at the school at the time. Minister of National Education Édouard Geffray, along with Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, plans to visit the site later today.
