Bogand:Around forty educational supervisors participated in a training session from September 15 to 18, 2026, in Bogand, focusing on Emergency Alternating Classes (CAU) to support teachers and ensure educational continuity amid security challenges and pressure on school infrastructure.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the training was organized by the Regional Directorate of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education (DREPPNF) of Goulmou. It concentrated on pedagogical methods suitable for CAUs, such as group and differentiated pedagogy, alternation, and tutoring.

Participants also received training in advocacy, social mobilization, recognizing psychosocial distress, providing psychological first aid, and engaging in physical, sporting, and expressive activities. They were introduced to the Better Learning Program (BLP). The workshops included presentations, discussions, and group activities, allowing facilitators to identify challenges in implementing teaching approaches and to devise solutions such as strengthening teacher capacity, using tutoring and large-group teaching methods, and mobilizing community resources for teaching materials.

The last day of training focused on the practical organization of CAUs in primary schools, particularly on how to divide students into cohorts, manage timetables, curricula, and assessment methods. Trainers noted that daily alternation, involving two student cohorts using the same facilities alternately, is currently preferred to alleviate capacity pressure.

Upon completing the training, participants took a post-test and session evaluation, reporting a satisfaction rate of 95.59%. Before closing the workshop, facilitators committed to sharing their knowledge with teachers. Sylvain Thiombiano, the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education for Gnagna, urged participants to apply their new skills in their work, representing the Regional Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education for Goulmou.
