Korsimoro:The Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Water, Animal and Fisheries Resources, Commander Isma«l Sombi, inaugurated a new fortified food production unit named "Paaspanga" in Korsimoro. Operated by the National Food Security Stock Management Company (SONAGESS), this semi-industrial facility is aimed at enhancing the processing and packaging of local agricultural products, focusing on flours and fortified cereal bars, while also ensuring the preservation of market garden produce.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the facility has the capability to process at least one tonne of raw materials daily. It includes four cold storage rooms with a total capacity of 200 tonnes, divided into units of 50 tonnes each. The infrastructure also comprises production and packaging buildings, storage and pre-treatment sheds, and a drying area.

Minister Sombi emphasized that the new unit is expected to add value to national productions, minimize post-harvest losses, and create more added value for producers and consumers. This initiative aligns with the goals set out in the 2026-2028 Agropastoral, Hydraulic and Fisheries Offensive.

Wªndpagnagd Alfred Kola, Director General of SONAGESS, stated that his organization is committed to ensuring the rigorous and sustainable operation of the unit, aiming to preserve the equipment and optimize its use.
