Eid El Kebir Feast in Zondoma: Imam Mikalou Diallo Calls for Muslim Unity to Tackle National Challenges

Zondoma: The Eid al-Adha prayer, known locally as Tabaski, was observed on Friday, June 6, 2025, in Gourcy with Imam Mikalou Diallo leading the congregation from the Sunni community at the Franco-Arab school Alwahdatoul Islamia.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Imam Mikalou Diallo addressed the faithful at the conclusion of the prayer, emphasizing the collective responsibility of Muslims in addressing the challenges facing the nation. He urged the Muslim community to unite against the issues affecting the country. Imam Diallo also reflected on the significance of the Tabaski festival, marked by the ritual sacrifice of a sheep, and advised young people to exercise caution and sobriety, particularly in traffic.

Representing the administration, Anatole Pengwend© Kabor©, Secretary General of Zondoma Province, extended his wishes for a joyful Tabaski to the Muslim community. The town of Gourcy hosted prayers at four different sites, where worshippers gathered to seek the restoration of peace in the country.
