Yatenga Muslim Community Unites in Prayer for Peace and Cohesion

Ouahigouya: The faithful of the Muslim community in Ouahigouya gathered at Place de la Nation on Friday to observe the Tabaski festival with prayers for peace and social cohesion in the region and across Burkina Faso. Imam El Hadj Abdoul Rasman© Traor© led the congregation, emphasizing the need for merciful intervention for a peaceful future.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Imam Traor©, along with other religious leaders and several ministers of the King of Yatenga, expressed gratitude to the administrative authorities and diverse religious groups present. They highlighted the importance of brotherhood and unity among communities to foster peaceful coexistence.

Governor of the Northern Region, Thomas Yampa, expressed his pleasure at the warm reception and shared his aspirations for the Tabaski festival to symbolize global peace and social cohesion. He extended his wishes for a joyful celebration and expressed his hope for continued harmony and collaborative development in the coming years.

"We are taking this moment of spiritual reflection to wish, along with all the region's constituent bodies, a happy Tabaski festival to all Muslim faithful. Our hope is that next year we will find ourselves in this same place, in renewed lasting peace and harmony, so that together we can better participate in the development of our region, and even of Burkina Faso," Yampa stated.
