Fada N’Gourma Police Enforce Stricter Helmet Regulations

Fada N'Gourma:Security forces in Fada N'Gourma have intensified their enforcement of mandatory helmet-wearing regulations, resulting in the confiscation of 448 two-wheeled vehicles and 21 three-wheeled vehicles.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Central Police Station of Fada N'Gourma, in collaboration with internal security forces, conducted a joint operation to ensure compliance with helmet laws. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance road safety for drivers of two- and three-wheeled vehicles.

Chief Superintendent Bienvenue Kamboul©, the Central Police Commissioner, stated that most road users adhered to the helmet regulations, but some non-compliant individuals were stopped. Offenders are required to pay a fine of 3,000 CFA francs and present a protective helmet to retrieve their vehicles.

The mandatory helmet law has been in place for over a decade, and after extensive public awareness campaigns, authorities have now shifted to stricter enforcement measures. With the new school year beginning, Kamboul© urged parents to prioritize the safety of children traveling by motorcycle and recommended using state-provided public transport to mitigate traffic accident risks.
