S©no: The population of Falagountou supports families of VDP soldiers who fell in battle with food and cash. Eighteen families of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell on the field of honor received support in the form of food and cash on Monday in Falagountou, thanks to a surge of solidarity from the local population.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this humanitarian action is the result of the combined efforts of the people of Falagountou, under the leadership of the local community leaders. Through this initiative, the organizers intend to bring relief to bereaved families, while honoring the memory of the VDP (Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland) who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the nation.
Each beneficiary family received a total of 450 kilograms of food. The package consisted of two bags of sorghum, two bags of millet, and one 50-kilogram bag of rice. These cereals aim to contribute to the food security of the households concerned, in a context marked by security and humanitarian challenges.
In addition to food, each family also received a cash grant of 50,000 CFA francs. This monetary support will allow beneficiaries to meet certain urgent daily expenses, particularly those related to health, education, or immediate household needs.
The handover of food and financial aid took place in the presence of the administrative, military, and traditional authorities of Falagountou. They welcomed the initiative, describing it as an act of solidarity and recognition towards the families of the fallen heroes.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, several families expressed their deep gratitude to the driving forces and the entire population of Falagountou for this mark of compassion and support. Through this gesture, the Falagountou community reaffirmed its solidarity and commitment to the families of the VDP who fell in defense of the Nation.
