Nahouri: Members of the special delegation of the municipality of P´ adopted the Strategic Plan for Solid Waste Management (PSGDS) this Friday, February 6, 2026, during an extraordinary session in P´. The session was chaired by the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the said municipality, Ilassa Dianda.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the adoption of this new municipal sanitation management framework, developed with the involvement of the ad hoc committee established by the special delegation, marks a decisive turning point in solid waste management in the municipality. Ilassa Dianda, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality, emphasized the significance of this development.
The plan was adopted by the 17 members of the special delegation after a presentation by the project manager, S©raphin Koutaba, followed by discussions. Key activities of the plan include enhancing waste management infrastructure, improving waste recovery, continuing social mobilization through the implementation of SCA, eco-school competitions, revitalizing environmental monitoring units, conducting awareness campaigns, and enforcing hygiene-related offenses by the hygiene police brigade.
At the conclusion of the session, the Project for the Development of Solid Waste (PDS) praised the contributions of its members and associated organizations. It urged the entire population to actively engage, as the plan's success relies on the commitment of every citizen to maintaining a clean, waste-free P´.
This strategic plan is part of the Solid Waste Governance Improvement Project (PAGD-19), which targets 19 medium-sized cities in Burkina Faso.
