Kourittenga: The parish of Saint Anthony of Padua in the commune of Andemtenga resonated on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with the celebration of Father Barthlmy Malgoubri's silver jubilee of priesthood. Surrounded by his peers and parishioners, the jubilarian gave thanks for his 25 years of service to the Lord.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the thanksgiving mass was presided over by Father Barthlmy Malgoubri himself, in the presence of the Bishop of the Diocese of Tenkodogo, Bishop David Koudougou. The event mobilized many personalities, administrative, customary and religious authorities, friends, relatives of the jubilarian, and faithful from all corners of the archdiocese of Koupla.
Ordained a priest on December 3, 2000, in Bobo-Dioulasso, Father Malgoubri placed his ministry under divine protection with this motto: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want" (Ps 22:1). It was through songs of praise, adoration, and gratitude that the community celebrated this quarter-century of self-giving.
Father Malgoubri expressed his profound gratitude to God and to all those who supported him: "Thank you infinitely to God who is my shepherd and who has given me life, health, and faith during these 25 years. I am truly proud to still be a servant of God." He clarified that this jubilee does not mark the end of his mission, but a step to renew his commitment. The man of God humbly asked the Lord to continue to assist him for years to come.
Father Barthlmy Malgoubri expressed wishes for peace and security for Burkina Faso, as well as a happy 2026 to all. Bishop David Koudougou, for his part, sent his wishes for health, perseverance in faith, and renewed commitment to the jubilarian, encouraging him to continue his service within the church with zeal.
