Festival Encourages B©r©gadougou Children to Embrace Education

B©r©gadougou:As the school year approaches, children in the B©r©gadougou commune experienced a day brimming with joy, sports, culture, and education. Musician and slam poet Youdassif, known as Issouf Soma, orchestrated the second edition of the "Youdassif and the Children Have Fun" festival on August 26, 2026, under the patronage of Mahamadi Sawadogo, President of the Special Delegation of B©r©gadougou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, themed "Holidays are over, let's go to school," aimed primarily at children in the first cycle, including those not attending school. It was intended to prepare them morally and physically for the return to classes, offering a mix of sport, games, music, slam poetry, cultural activities, and educational entertainment.

Youdassif initiated this festival out of a desire to bring smiles to children today so they can contribute to building Burkina Faso tomorrow. The event strives to mobilize children from B©r©gadougou and beyond around the values of education, fair play, teamwork, solidarity, and community living.

The festival also raised awareness about the importance of education among children and their families. It created a space for collaboration between children, parents, teachers, and the community to foster a nurturing environment for children's development and success.

The President of the Special Delegation praised Youdassif's commitment, calling the festival a "wonderful initiative." He highlighted the importance of supporting children in their education, emphasizing that the knowledge and values children develop today are the foundation of the nation's future strength.

Parents, teachers, and other educational stakeholders were reminded that children's success is a collective responsibility. They were encouraged to support children with kindness and determination throughout their academic and professional journeys.

Youdassif, motivated by the affection shown by the children, seeks to reciprocate their love by contributing to their education and development. He appeals to NGOs, associations, organizations, individuals, and public authorities for further support to expand the initiative.

The festival aligns with a broader vision to support the national efforts led by the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, aiming to contribute to training future leaders. For Youdassif, making children smile also means nurturing their hope and encouraging them to return to school with strength, confidence, and enthusiasm.
