Kampti: The Catholic Christian community of Kampti is in mourning as Marie Ther¨se Pale, the first child baptized at the Catholic Mission of Kampti on January 17, 1942, was called back to God on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on January 11, 1942, in Kampti-Bouti, Marie Ther¨se Pale's baptism six days after her birth marked a significant event in the local religious community, as she became the first Lobi baby to be baptized at the mission, thanks to the religious dedication of her parents, Laurent Kambou and Felicite Pale.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Marie Ther¨se Pale received her First Communion and Confirmation on May 22, 1955, in Kampti. She was under the dual protection of the Virgin Mary and Saint Ther¨se of the Child Jesus, the patron saint of the Kampti parish. Her life was marked by a deep commitment to her faith and service to her community, which made a lasting impact on generations of faithful.

Her grandson, Saturnin Kambou, expressed the family's sentiments, stating, "Grandmother Marie Ther¨se was a quiet light. She prayed silently, but her faith shone brightly. She passed on to us the love of Christ by example." A close relative also shared that "she witnessed the Kampti Mission being born, growing, and taking root. Her life was a gift to God and his Church."

Marie Ther¨se Pale, a pioneer of the Christian faith in Kampti, leaves behind a legacy of profound devotion to God and her community. Her life continues to inspire those who follow the path of faith. She was married to Sylvain Hien on June 10, 1960, and was a mother of three. She joins her husband, who passed away on December 24, 1995.
