First Phase of Civic and Patriotic Education Program Launched in Sourou

Sourou: The Secretary General of Sourou Province, Wendyam Martial Ouedraogo, representing the High Commissioner, Desire Badolo, has launched the first phase of the Civic and Patriotic Education (CPE) program for middle school students in post-primary and secondary schools. The launch event took place at the Sangoule Lamizana Stadium in Tougan, attended by the provincial director in charge of education, several provincial directors, military and paramilitary authorities, and the program's instructors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director, Joseph Karambiri, stated that the initiative aims to instill civic and patriotic values in middle school students. "Following the patriotic immersion of the 2025 baccalaureate graduates and in view of the results achieved, the government has decided to extend civic and patriotic guidance to the intermediate classes in order to instill in them the same values of civic duty and patriotism. These students will thus be better prepared before reaching the exam classes," he said.

The program is expected to provide middle school students with a foundation in civic duty and patriotism, equipping them with the necessary values before they advance to higher academic levels.
