Sourou: The Koyila Association of priests and nuns of the Our Lady of the Assumption parish in Tougan donated three tons of cement on Saturday to support the presidential initiative Faso Mebo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation was presented by Father Abraham Zerbo, who highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in nation-building and described the gesture as a response to the authorities' call for national development.
Father Zerbo expressed that despite the religious identity of the donors, their primary motivation was their shared regional heritage. 'It is true that we are Catholic, but above all, we are sons and daughters of the same region. When we heard the call to nation-building through the Faso Mebo initiative in our region, we felt compelled to participate,' he stated.
The first vice-president of the special delegation of the Tougan commune, Siaka Boro, extended his gratitude to the Koyila association for its contribution to the development of the Tougan commune and the Sourou region in general. Mr. Zerbo further emphasized that this action aligns with the vision and commitment of Burkina Faso's highest authorities, who are dedicated to the country's development.
The Koyila association unites priests and nuns from the Sourou province who have been engaged in social welfare work for about twenty years. Their contribution to the Faso Mebo initiative marks yet another effort in their long-standing commitment to regional development and social welfare.
