Dissihn:The Fodé bridge has officially opened to traffic in the city center of Dissihn, Ioba, following the efforts spearheaded by the local community. The opening ceremony, held on October 17, 2026, was led by Benjamin Nana, President of the Special Delegation of the commune of Dissihn.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw attendance from various constituted bodies, customary and religious authorities, alongside a large crowd supporting the Popular Progressive Revolution through the Faso Mêbo agency.
The bridge, measuring six meters in length and three meters in width, was constructed entirely by the Faso Mêbo municipal committee and dedicated volunteers. The project commenced on July 25, 2026, and was completed without external financial assistance, relying solely on local contributions.
The community has expressed enthusiasm over the bridge's opening, as it resolves longstanding issues related to accessibility and reduces the need for lengthy detours to reach services and family members.
Benjamin Nana emphasized the importance of continuing the development of infrastructure like the Fodé bridge, urging residents to maintain support for these initiatives. Contributions for future projects are still being accepted, highlighting the community's role in driving their development.
