Football Match Promotes Peace and Unity at Community Event

Nohoungo:The village of Nohoungo in Koup©la was bustling with activity during a community day dedicated to promoting peace, social cohesion, and unity through games and sports.

According to Burkina Information Agency, a gala football match between the Forgerons and the Yarc© was one of the key highlights, resulting in a 1-1 draw. This event, themed "Culture - Peace - Living Together," drew various segments of the population to participate in sporting and cultural activities.

The football match, played in two ten-minute halves, was a symbol of fraternity and conviviality, transcending the competitive nature of the game. The Forgerons scored first, but the Yarc© equalized in the final minutes. FC Saanba coach Yacouba Ganemtor© praised the event for fostering friendship and community ties, emphasizing the importance of fair play and brotherhood.

Ren© Ib©ogo, the event's promoter, highlighted the day as a platform for bringing together different communities to enhance social cohesion. Omer Belembongo, the second vice-president of the Koup©la commune's special delegation, expressed support for the initiative, noting its role in uniting previously divided groups.

In addition to the football match, the event featured community games such as war©, slingshot shooting, p©tanque, foosball, and checkers. Cycling races for both men and women were organized, and a parade celebrated the joking relationship among the Yarc©, the Fulani, and the Blacksmiths. The top performers in each discipline were recognized and rewarded.

Participants also enjoyed Dassandaaga, which offered a chance to explore and savor various local dishes and drinks.
