Ouagadougou: The founder of the "Tabernacles of the Sons of the Kingdom of Heaven Church," Moumouni Ibrahima, also known as 'Pastor Guillaume the Patriarch,' has been arrested for alleged rapes, attempted rapes, public indecency, indecent assault, abuse of weakness, fraud, and money laundering, as announced by the Prosecutor of Faso at the High Court of Ouaga II.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the case came to light following a complaint lodged on April 30, 2026, by a woman accusing Ibrahima of rape, attempted rape, fraud, and death threats. The Prosecutor's statement detailed how Ibrahima allegedly exploited his religious authority to coerce followers into sexual acts through manipulative tactics, threats, or deceit.
The statement further revealed that 'Pastor Guillaume the Patriarch' is accused of acquiring sums of money from the complainant and other victims under coercive circumstances. At the Prosecutor's request, the police at the 12th district of Ouagadougou initiated investigations into the allegations.
Multiple complainants, primarily women affiliated with the "Tabernacles of the Sons of the Kingdom of Heaven Church," have been interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation. Ibrahima has been arrested and remains in custody while the church has been closed temporarily to facilitate the investigation.
The investigation continues as authorities aim to gather testimonies from additional victims and witnesses to uncover the full scope of the alleged crimes.
