Ganzourgou Ceremony Promotes “Buy Local” Initiative

Ganzourgou: The "buy local" message was promoted at the DPEPPNF during the flag-raising ceremony. The Ganzourgou Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) hosted the traditional flag-raising ceremony this Monday. The ceremony was marked by a call to "buy local."

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, organized on the first Monday of the month, brought together all the agents of the provincial directorate as well as those of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Zorgho. Presiding over the event, the provincial director, Nobila Celestine Zagre/Zoungrana, relayed the message from the President of Burkina Faso, delivered as part of the third edition of the Days of Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation (JEPPC). This message encourages Burkinab¨ citizens to prioritize the consumption of local products.

Echoing this year's slogan, "My plate, my pride," the director urged staff to adopt consumption habits focused on national products. She also emphasized the need to strengthen local production. "We may want to consume locally, but if we can't supply ourselves with what we produce, it will be difficult to achieve our goals," she stated.

Ms. Zagre/Zoungrana further encouraged everyone to raise awareness among their communities and get involved in production. According to her, producing and consuming locally remain key drivers for supporting the national economy and ensuring the country's development. The raising of the colours at the DPEPPNF of Ganzourgou is thus part of the dynamic of promoting civic-mindedness and citizen engagement within the public administration.
