The representative of the Head of the basic education district of Zorgho, Mr. Aimé Didier Bayi, kicked off the activities marking the closing of the cultural and sports season of the District of Basic Education (CEB) of Zorgho on May 10, 2024, at Kambambori 'A' school.Scheduled for two days, the first day was mainly marked by competitions in athletics and modern ballet. In front of thousands of schoolchildren, teachers and support staff, Mr. Bayi praised the remarkable mobilization of the participants and congratulated those who were involved in the cultural supervision of children. The day began with an athletics competition, notably in sprint running and long jump. It continued with the cultural competition, featuring modern ballet, with the participation of four eminent schools: Amitié 'A', Bouglem, Kambambori 'A' and Sapaga 'B'.Under the watchful eyes of an enthusiastic audience, the troupes from these schools competed in talent, but it was the troupe from Kambambori 'A' school that shone brightly, w inning first place. The schools of Bouglem, Amitié 'A' and Sapaga 'B' also impressed, placing second, third and fourth respectively. The jury welcomed a notable improvement in the level of the competition compared to the previous year, while highlighting a few points for improvement in the performances of the different troupes. However, the low participation of schools was deplored, prompting reflection on the importance of culture in the education of children, recalling that this is the very essence of any nation. The day ended with a lively fair where local dishes and products attracted a multitude of fans. The festivities will reach their peak on May 11, 2024 with the football final, which will be played at the Zorgho sports stadium, thus closing this memorable cultural and sporting season for the CEB of Zorgho.Source: Burkina Information Agency
