Zorgho, The President of the special delegation (PDS) of Zam, Stéphanie Tenin Lonfo/Soma, chaired the 2023 edition of the school excellence day on Saturday October 28, 2023 in Rapadama. The ceremony, initiated by the Association for the Development of the Municipality of Zam (ADCZ), made it possible to award prizes to around fifty winners.
Placed under the presidency of and the sponsorship of the Project Manager at MATDS, Antoine Ouédraogo.
“Excellence in the school environment: a means of promoting quality education in the commune of Zam”, it is under this theme that the daughters and sons of the commune of Zam, gathered around the Association for the development of the municipality of Zam (ADCZ ), magnified academic excellence on October 28, 2023.
This third edition relocated to the village of Rapadama was an opportunity to reward around fifty actors from all levels of education (preschool, primary, Franco-Arab schools, post-primary and secondary).
The prizes were awarded, among others, to the best preschool establishments, to the best students from Franco-Arab schools, to the best students in the Certificate of Primary Studies (CEP), to the best students in intermediate primary classes, to the best students in disability, to the best internally displaced students, to the best students in the Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC), to the best baccalaureate students, to the best teachers and supervisors.
School supplies, bicycles, cash, tablets, certificates of merit were constituent elements of these prizes.
For having achieved a 100% success rate in the CEP with a student population of 53, Isabelle Sandwidi from Zam “B” school is the best CM2 teacher in the district.
She receives a motorcycle, school supplies, a certificate of merit and the sum of 15,000 CFA francs.
The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Zam, welcomed the choice of theme which, according to her, is in line with the theme of the education forum organized in the province.
She showed her gratitude to the ADCZ and invited each actor to make their contribution to education in the Zam department.
Stéphanie Tenin Lonfo/Soma thanked teachers and social partners for the work done and invited parents to support them in increasing the success rate in the various exams.
She took the opportunity to challenge populations on the phenomenon of girls being withdrawn from school for early marriages and the presence of students on gold panning sites.
Ms. Lonfo called on all stakeholders to combat these phenomena without reservation so that education shines in the department.
The president of the organizing committee, Sévérin Tiendrébéogo, welcomed the mobilization of the sons and daughters of the locality.
He thanked the authorities and education stakeholders whose work made it possible to achieve the results.
As for the representative of the president of the ADCZ, Claude Congo, he welcomed the support of the population of Rapadama for the organization of the ceremony.
For the first time that the ceremony has been relocated, he expressed his satisfaction and announced that the village of Wéotinga has been chosen to host the 2024 edition, in accordance with the decision to organize the ceremony in the villages on a rotating basis.
Mr. Tiendrebeogo then invited the populations of this village to begin the task and for other villages to support them.
The godfather, Antoine Ouédraogo, thanked the organizers for choosing him to sponsor the ceremony. He congratulated the winners and invited them to persevere and cultivate the values of discipline, courtesy and rigor to keep the torch of excellence high.
The representative of the beneficiaries, Balkissa Bonkoungou, expressed her gratitude to the organizers.
She praised the commitment of teachers and, on behalf of her peers, made a commitment to maintain the flame of excellence.
The head of the basic education district of Zam, Salfo Ouédraogo, on behalf of the heads of education services and teachers of the commune, reassured the association that its efforts are not in vain.
For him, the 87.10% achieved in the CEP session 2023, and the good success rates achieved in the BEPC and Baccalaureate exams are proof of the effectiveness of the support for the leaders of the municipality.
Mr. Ouédraogo expressed his gratitude to the ADCZ for the organization of this ceremony and congratulated the winners for the work accomplished.
