Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Tuy Province, Issiaka Segda, launched a vocational training program on Monday for students from high schools and colleges in the commune of Hound©. A total of 373 students are registered to train in approximately ten trades during these school holidays.

According to Burkina Information Agency, students from general education institutions have commenced vocational training in alignment with the Ministry of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training's new vision. The official launch was conducted by Issiaka Segda at the private vocational training center "Le Flambeau de Hound©," with a focus on building electricity, livestock, and solar energy.

In Hound©, students are receiving training in various trades, including masonry, beading, sewing, soilless agriculture, building electricity, solar energy, pastry making, car and motorcycle mechanics, weaving, welding, and knitting. Seydou Traor©, the provincial director of secondary education, vocational and technical training, expressed gratitude for the support from local authorities, highlighting the project's credibility. He also thanked the instructors for their availability and affordable rates for parents, encouraging students to embrace the skills that will help them meet everyday needs.

The High Commissioner emphasized the initiative's alignment with the President of Faso's vision to promote apprenticeships and vocational training, aiming to empower young people. He urged students to remain attentive during the learning sessions and commended the trainers' dedication.

In addition to Hound©, vocational training for general education students is also being organized in other municipalities within Tuy Province.
