Gourma: The Regional Directorate of Human Rights, Citizenship Promotion and Peace of Goulmou organized an exchange and awareness session on mechanisms for preventing and combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV) for 25 community actors in Diapangou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing participants' knowledge to promote the involvement of community actors in preventing gender-based violence. The Regional Director in charge of Human Rights in Goulmou, Boulema Yonli, emphasized the session as a platform for participatory dialogue to develop sustainable solutions against GBV within families.

Yonli highlighted the importance of peace within families for social cohesion, stating, "If there is peace in families, there will be peace in our communities and there will be peace in Burkina Faso." He addressed concerns about the limited number of participants by explaining that the strategy aimed to multiply the gains, encouraging attendees to disseminate the knowledge acquired to their families, groups, and associations.

Bernadin Lompo, head of Humanitarian Action in Diapangou, expressed optimism about the initiative, advocating for more such efforts to benefit populations and field actors. Participants concluded the workshop with satisfaction, committing to contribute to GBV prevention within their communities.
