Gourma: The Governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, presided over the traditional flag-raising ceremony in Fada N'Gourma on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. He called upon key stakeholders in the region to actively participate in organizing the second edition of the mandatory patriotic immersion program for new high school graduates, by providing material, financial, or logistical support to ensure the success of this national initiative.
According to Burkina Information Agency, addressing public service officials, partners and various stakeholders in the region, the governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, recalled that mandatory patriotic immersion is a national priority and that it must be supported by the Burkinabe people's own resources, in accordance with the vision of the highest authorities in the country.
'We must no longer be asking for help. We must no longer wait for outside support. We must rely on our own strength,' he said, before urging each stakeholder to contribute to the success of this edition.
Ram Joseph Kafando indicated that a system for collecting contributions has been put in place at the national level in order to receive the various donations intended for the organization of this patriotic immersion.
The governor also invited participants to raise awareness among their colleagues, partners and the public so that the three regions under his jurisdiction fully contribute to the success of this initiative aimed at strengthening civic-mindedness, patriotism and civic engagement among new high school graduates.
While acknowledging the efforts already made by the various actors in the region, Mr. Kafando said he was convinced that collective mobilization would make this second edition of the mandatory patriotic immersion of new high school graduates a resounding success.
