Gourma: The organizers of the second edition of the Fada N’Gourma Christian Music Festival (FASMIC-Fada) distributed food consisting of macaroni and cooking oil worth 101,000 CFA francs to 10 widows and 10 orphans from the city of Yendabili.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this gesture of solidarity is the result of a fundraising effort carried out during the second edition of the Christian Music Festival, held in December 2025 in Fada N’Gourma. The donation aims to provide relief to beneficiaries during a period marked by socio-economic difficulties.
Dougopo Thiombiano, the promoter of the Fada N’Gourma Christian Music Festival (FASMIC-Fada) and a gospel artist, stated that this initiative reflects the desire of Christian music actors to put words into action. ‘During the festival, we had the idea of raising funds to help widows and orphans. The Bible teaches us that there is no greater religion than that of assisting widows and orphans,’ he said.
Mr. Thiombiano recalled that FASMIC-Fada brought together several artists from different regions of Burkina Faso, as well as Niger and Ivory Coast. The chief of staff, Tenipagba Dominique Ou´ba, representing the president of the special delegation of the commune of Fada N’Gourma, welcomed the initiative by Christian artists.
He expressed the gratitude of the municipal authorities to the donors for their commitment to vulnerable people. ‘No gesture is insignificant when it is made with the heart. Everyone can bring something to their neighbor, even if it is just a smile or a comforting word,’ said the chief of staff. Tenipagba Dominique Ou´ba also invited the beneficiaries to cultivate the spirit of sharing and called on the entire population to increase solidarity actions in favor of vulnerable groups.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the festival organizers for this support, which will help improve their daily lives.
