Government Distributes Over 1,500 Tons of Fertilizer and 413 Tons of Seeds to Sourou Producers

Sourou: More than 1,500 tons of fertilizer and 413 tons of seeds have been made available to producers in Sourou Province as part of efforts to boost the 2026 agricultural campaign. This announcement was made by the provincial director of Agriculture, Water and Animal and Fisheries Resources of Sourou, Jacques Nadembega, during the monthly rotating flag-raising ceremony.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony took place at the provincial directorate of Agriculture, Water, and Animal and Fisheries Resources. It was attended by key stakeholders, including the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and numerous agricultural producers, and was presided over by the High Commissioner of Sourou Province, D©sir© Badolo.

Nadembega expressed gratitude for the selection of his department to host the flag-raising event at the start of the rainy season. He urged producers to commit fully to the agricultural campaign and emphasized the government's support through the provision of essential resources. "The agricultural campaign that is getting underway is generating a lot of hope. The government has made available to the province of Sourou more than 1,500 tons of fertilizer and 413 tons of seeds. The province also has eight tractors for carrying out plowing operations," he stated.

Etienne Boro, speaking on behalf of the producers, expressed appreciation for the provincial administration's efforts and encouraged farmers to surpass last year's production as a gesture of gratitude. High Commissioner D©sir© Badolo extended his good wishes for a successful agricultural season and emphasized the importance of unity and social cohesion among the population. He also conveyed his best wishes to candidates and organizers of the 2026 school examinations.
