Bougouriba: The Governor of the Dj´r´ region, Siaka Barro, presided over the official raising of the national flag at the High Commission in Diebougou, Bougouriba province. The ceremony was attended by regional dignitaries, administrative and traditional authorities, and key figures from Bougouriba.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this event provided an opportunity for the governor to convey the message of national authorities to the people, inviting them to embrace the ideals of the progressive and popular Revolution. He emphasized the importance of supporting government actions in the implementation of public policies.
Following the flag-raising, Governor Siaka Barro addressed the participants before launching the 4th edition of the Month of Exemplary Tax Practice, scheduled from March 2 to 31, 2026. In his speech, he reminded the people of Burkina Faso of the necessity to rely on their own resources for the country's development, especially in the context of a strong desire for national sovereignty.
He stressed that Burkina Faso's commitment to total sovereignty and endogenous development, under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traore, requires each citizen to exhibit exemplary fiscal responsibility. Citing Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel Ouedraogo, the governor noted, "every tax, every tax paid is an act of love for Burkina Faso," urging citizens to reflect on these words and actively contribute to building a sovereign and prosperous nation.
To demonstrate his commitment, Siaka Barro visited the Provincial Tax Office to fulfill his tax obligations, encouraging others to follow suit. "We cannot talk about sovereignty if we ourselves do not contribute by paying our taxes to allow the State to have the resources necessary to build Burkina Faso," he stated.
This visit to Diebougou follows a previous one on February 2nd in Dano, Ioba province, where he launched a community initiative for acquiring an ambulance for the 15th company of firefighters in Gaoua. After the ceremony, the governor continued his tour in Bondigui, 30 kilometers west of Diebougou, exchanging ideas with local key figures.
The next regional flag-raising ceremony is scheduled for April 6, 2026, in Batie, Noumbiel province.
