Koudougou:Governor Adama Jean Yves B©r© of the Nando region visited the regional branch of the National Identification Office (ONI) at the Place de la Nation site. This visit was part of the fourth-year commemoration of the MPSR2, which included a special operation for enrolling citizens for the AES Biometric Identity Card (CIB-AES).
According to Burkina Information Agency, Governor B©r© praised the field teams for their dedication and congratulated them for their efforts to make services more accessible to the public. He was joined by several local dignitaries, including Salimata Ouedraogo/Sanou, the High Commissioner of Boulkiemd© province, Am©d©e Par©, President of the special delegation of the municipality of Koudougou, and Pema Neya, mission officer of the Presidency of Faso to the Nando region.
Police Lieutenant Oumarou Savadogo, head of ONI-Nando, provided updates on the operational arrangements. He emphasized the use of an online enrollment kit, which enhances processing speed and allows children as young as five to obtain the CIB-AES. He also noted that citizens could enroll even if their current identification documents were still valid.
Lieutenant Savadogo addressed issues such as duplicate documents, which occur when citizens apply for new records without disclosing previous ones. This can cause system disruptions, prompting ONI to collaborate with the civil registry, police, gendarmerie, and justice system to resolve these issues. The ONI-Nando branch is urging the public to check for printed cards at collection sites and reaffirmed its commitment to outreach efforts with various groups to facilitate registration.
