Sabc©:More than 70 students, teachers, educational supervisors, and administrative staff from primary and secondary schools were rewarded on Tuesday during the Communal Day of School Excellence. This initiative, organized by the Sabc© commune, aims to encourage merit and performance in the education system.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was sponsored by Karim Ou©draogo, the High Commissioner of Bam Province. At the secondary level, Issa Somtor©, a philosophy teacher at the Sabc© departmental high school, was named best teacher. Meanwhile, Kadidiatou Sawadogo, a certified teacher at the Zandkoom public primary school, received the award at the primary level. Both teachers were honored with a new motorcycle and a certificate of recognition.
Issa Somtor© expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am very happy and I thank the municipal authorities and their partners." He dedicated his award to his colleagues and all those involved in the education system who have supported him throughout his career.
Top-performing students were also recognized. Those who excelled in the primary school leaving certificate (CEP) exams received a bicycle and a school kit, while top students in the lower secondary school leaving certificate (BEPC) exams were awarded school kits and 25,000 FCFA. The top graduates in each series received a tablet and a scholarship of 50,000 FCFA.
Educational supervisors from the basic education districts (CEB), the principal of the departmental high school, and the director of the N´h CEG were also acknowledged with tablets and letters of commendation for their performance in the baccalaureate and BEPC exams.
Djiriga Aristide Bado, President of the Sabc© Special Delegation (PDS), stated that the initiative aims to recognize the efforts of various stakeholders and to further stimulate competition and the pursuit of excellence within schools. He emphasized the ambition that every child in the municipality should benefit from the necessary conditions to learn, progress, and fully realize their potential.
The event also acknowledged those involved in non-formal education.
