Nouna: The High Commissioner of Koosin Province, Noufo Dembel©, presided over the graduation ceremony for the first phase of a civic and patriotic education program, which saw the participation of 3,780 middle school students in Nouna. The event took place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education (PIEQ).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative has introduced a new pedagogical approach, focusing on instilling values of solidarity, integrity, patriotism, and civic responsibility among students. The program involved 1,873 boys and 1,907 girls from 11 public and private secondary schools in Nouna, with the ceremony comprising two phases: the animation of the boxes and the review of the modules taught.
The program officially launched on January 13, 2026, at the Nouna Provincial Polyvalent High School and spanned five weeks. Students were educated on civic and patriotic values, solidarity, living together, hygiene, and drug prevention in schools, aiming to foster patriotism in service to the nation. The initiative was led by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) under Chief Warrant Officer Yamba Kaba for the first phase, followed by high school and college teachers in the second phase.
The impact of this guidance was evident during the ceremony, with students demonstrating solemnity during the raising of the colors and singing the national anthem with pride. Provincial director Karfa Ferdinand Boni emphasized the importance of discipline and respect for authority among students in intermediate classes. He also expressed gratitude to authorities, including the High Commissioner and security forces, for their commitment to education.
High Commissioner Noufo Dembel© highlighted the ceremony as a reflection of Koosin's collective commitment to nurturing a responsible and committed youth for the nation. He stressed that the progressive and popular revolution relies on an educated youth attached to Burkinab¨ values. The ceremony concluded with a parade by the students, celebrating the completion of this educational phase.
