Ouagadougou: The Burkina Faso tourism industry development directorate organized a consultation framework with private actors in the Guiriko tourism sector this Wednesday in Bobo-Dioulasso for better structuring of the sector.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting aimed to strengthen the structuring of private actors in this sector to contribute to the implementation of the national policy on tourism development. The representative of the governor of Guiriko, Boubie Ido, invited the stakeholders to seize the opportunity to discuss pressing issues so that both the administration and stakeholders can be satisfied with the results, leading to enhanced performance and contribution to the country's development.
For the director of tourism industry development, Kadre Sawadogo, the meeting provided a platform to examine the challenges facing the sector, exchange views on its prospects, and work towards a better structuring of private tourism sector organizations. Sawadogo noted that although there are enough umbrella organizations, they often lack a common framework, thus emphasizing the need for collaboration between the private sector and national administration to truly develop the tourism sector.
The meeting brought together several players in the private tourism sector, including professional organizations in the hotel, restaurant, and tourist guide industries, alongside agents from the Regional Directorate of Culture, Arts and Tourism of Guiriko. Following the discussions, recommendations are expected to be formulated to contribute to a better organization of stakeholders and the promotion of the Burkinabe tourism sector.
