Health, modernization and safety on the cover of Burkinabe newspapers

This Tuesday's Burkinabè dailies deal with the fight against malaria, the modernization of the administration and the security situation.

The state daily Sidwaya mentions on its front page: "Security situation: The AU Peace and Security Council discusses with the Head of State".

The newspaper informs that Captain Ibrahim Traoré had, on Monday July 24, 2023 in Ouagadougou, a working session with the Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU) for a mission to assess the Transition.

According to Sidwaya, the members of the Council exchanged with Captain Ibrahim Traoré on security issues.

According to him, the discussions between the president of the month of the Peace and Security Council and Captain Traoré were enriching.

On the same subject, the private daily L'Express du Faso informs that the mission also met on July 23, 2023 with the Burkinabè government on security, humanitarian and development issues.

The dean of private dailies, L'Observateur Paalga, reveals on its front page, about insecurity: "Ouahigouya-Gourcy axis: Burned vehicles and a person kidnapped by terrorists".

According to the colleague, terrorists stopped vehicles between the villages of Koudoumbo and Bougounam which they burned.

Under another aspect, the public newspaper Sidwaya sports on its headline: "Modernization of the Administration: The National Council takes stock".

The newspaper informs that the Ministry of Public Service, Labor and Social Protection organized, yesterday Monday in Ouagadougou, an ordinary session of the year 2022 of the National Council for the Modernization of Administration and Good Governance (CN-MABG).

The national daily rotes that the meeting was placed under the presidency of the Prime Minister, Apollinaire Joachimson Kyélem de Tambèla.

By the way, L'Observateur Paalga adds that development beneficial to all sections of the population can only be envisaged in a context of good governance and modernization of public administration.

He continues that this governance is characterized by factors of political stability, social cohesion, peace and strengthening of the rule of law and democracy.

On this same subject, L'Express du Faso indicates that the objective of the 2023 session is to present and examine the state of implementation of the National Strategy for the Modernization of Public Administration (SNMAP).

From another angle, the private newspaper Le Pays headlines: “Fight against malaria in Burkina: The R21/Matrix-M vaccine receives marketing authorization”.

The newspaper claims that the Nanoro Clinical Research Unit of the Health Science Research Institute (CNRTS/IRSS) has announced that the R21/Matrix-M malaria vaccine has been licensed for use in Burkina Faso by the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Regulation (ANRP) of the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene.

In this regard, Sidwaya points out that the vaccine has been approved for use in children aged 5 to 36 months, the age group most at risk of death from malaria.

The journal adds that the high rate of efficacy and reassuring safety profile previously reported in the Phase II space in Burkina Faso.
