High Commissioner Commends Cashew Producer’s Innovations in Ioba

Ioba: The High Commissioner of the province, Innocents Ouattara, praised the innovative efforts of Barre Kassoum Kologo during a visit to his orchard in Ouessa. The visit aimed to promote good agricultural practices in the cashew sector and was attended by key stakeholders from the rural sector, including regional and provincial agriculture directorates and the Burkinabe council for agro-pastoral and fisheries sectors (CBF).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the orchard spans 42 hectares, predominantly planted with cashew trees, alongside lemon and mango trees. The provincial focal point of the CBF, William Dah, noted that Kologo receives support from state structures and technical partners to enhance agricultural practices and operations. The orchard is expected to produce 22 tons of cashew nuts this season, thanks to the innovative techniques employed by the producer.

The High Commissioner, Innocents Ouattara, emphasized the visit's purpose to understand the innovations and challenges faced by Kologo, while also highlighting the importance of good agricultural practices. Ouattara praised Kologo's efforts, encouraging him to continue following technical advice and serve as a model for other producers.

Ismael Sanogo, the prefect and president of the special delegation of Ouessa, expressed appreciation for the authorities' visit and congratulated Kologo on his contributions to local agricultural development.
