Tuy: The High Commissioner of Tuy Province, Issiaka Segda, launched the 2nd Regional Week of Living Together (SRVE) in Guiriko on Monday, November 24, 2025, in Hounde. The ceremony brought together administrative authorities, traditional and religious leaders, representatives of youth and women, as well as those involved in community policing.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the province's leading figures mobilized in large numbers at the High Commission Square to mark the opening of this week dedicated to living together. The ceremony began with the raising of the national flag, in a solemn atmosphere reflecting the people's attachment to the nation.
Following this, the High Commissioner read the message of peace addressed by the Governor of the Guiriko region. The message emphasized that the Week of Living Together is "a precious moment for introspection, fraternity, and shared commitment." In her message, the regional authority urged the population to strengthen social cohesion in a national context marked by numerous challenges. She reiterated that "more than ever, our survival, our development, and our peace depend on our ability to live together in tolerance, respect, and solidarity." The message also stressed that cultural, linguistic, and religious differences should be seen as "a unifying asset" and not as a source of division.
Drawing on the figures of Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King, she stressed the importance of dialogue, tolerance and solidarity to peacefully resolve disputes, while encouraging the appreciation of traditional conflict resolution mechanisms.
In the same message, the regional authority also praised the crucial role of women, young people, traditional and religious authorities, as well as the Defense and Security Forces, whose commitment is an essential pillar of maintaining peace in the region.
While declaring SRVE 2025 open, the High Commissioner of Tuy invited all communities to actively participate in the activities planned during the week.
Placed under the theme "Acceptance of diversities: uniting our forces for food sovereignty and peace", this second edition takes place from November 24 to 29, 2025.
