Tuy: The High Commissioner of Tuy Province, Issiaka Segda, officially launched the Revolutionary Youth on the March (JeRM) initiative on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in Hounde, as part of the commemoration of the first anniversary of the proclamation of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP). The ceremony included the reading of the Prime Minister's message, a fun run, and an aerobics session.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony mobilized the province's vital forces and a large youth on the plateau of the High Commission of Hounde, a sign of the population's support for the initiative. In the Prime Minister's message, read by High Commissioner Issiaka Segda, it emerged that the Revolutionary Youth on the March initiative aims to strengthen the responsibility of young people in leading the popular progressive revolution.
The message indicated that the JeRM must allow Burkinabe youth to live out their commitment but above all to live and work as revolutionaries with the conviction "Homeland or Death". The initiative will be implemented in all 47 provinces and in all municipalities of Burkina Faso.
Several activities are planned, including a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the homeland, a day of tribute and revolutionary commitment every quarter, educational talks on the ideals of the RPP, public conferences on the patriotic values of Faso, as well as awareness-raising capsules, mini-videos, and audios on the actions of the Revolution.
The message reiterates that the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, is counting on the youth to ensure the success of the Revolution. "You are the lifeblood of this Revolution and you are at the forefront," he emphasized.
After the message was read, the participants took part in a popular cross-country run through the main streets of the city of Hounde. The activity concluded on the High Commission's plateau with an aerobics session in a sporting and patriotic atmosphere.
