Bangrin: The high school in sector 4 of Hound© won the 2nd edition of the Provincial Director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training Cup of Tuy, beating the CEG of sector 3 in the final by penalty shootouts by 4 to 3.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the second edition of the inter-school football tournament, known as the Provincial Director's Cup, began on April 9, 2026, and culminated on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the provincial high school in Hound©. The final pitted the high school from Sector 4 against the CEG (General Education College) from Sector 3. After a hard-fought match, the high school from Sector 4 emerged victorious in a penalty shootout, 4-3.
The high school in Sector 4, the winner of the competition, took home the trophy, a set of jerseys, a ball, and a cash prize. The CEG in Sector 3, which came in second, received medals, a set of jerseys, a ball, and a cash prize. The Hound© Municipal High School finished in third place and also received an award.
In total, 15 teams, including ten high schools and five CEGs, took part in the competition which was played in the communes of Hound©, Koumbia and Founzan.
The provincial director of secondary, vocational, and technical education for Tuy, Seydou Traor©, expressed his satisfaction with the organization. He indicated that the competition aims to promote a spirit of competition, fair play, and student well-being. He commended the mobilization of all stakeholders and the efforts of the organizing committee.
Speaking on behalf of the sponsors, Ms. Assa Koulibaly/Konat© encouraged the students to cultivate the values of solidarity, respect, and discipline. She also reiterated their commitment to supporting the organizer for future editions.
Representing the Minister of Servants of the People, patron of the ceremony, the special envoy, Marcel Ou©draogo, congratulated the promoter and the organizing committee for the success of the event.
The final of the 2nd edition of the Provincial Director's Cup was played under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of Tuy, Issaka Segda and the co-sponsorship of the President of the Kadiogo regional football league, Charles Dohnita Badoun.
