Houet: The Cause Art Association organized the second training session for musical entertainers, better known as Disc Jockeys (DJ), from June 23 to 25, 2026, in Bobo-Dioulasso. This initiative is part of a dynamic to promote Burkinabe music through capacity building for the main actors involved in its dissemination.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the association's president, F©lix Darga, highlighted that this training addresses a concerning observation: the weak presence of Burkinabe music in many entertainment spaces despite the richness and diversity of national production. "DJs occupy a strategic place in the music promotion chain. The consumption of Burkinabe music cannot truly progress without their involvement. We therefore wanted to offer them the necessary skills to be more efficient, more professional and more competitive so that they can contribute more to the promotion of our musical heritage," he said.

This second edition brought together 16 participants, including 14 men and 2 women, who came to learn or refine their professional skills. Novices were introduced to the fundamentals of DJing (the art and technique of selecting, mixing, and continuously playing music), while experienced DJs benefited from advanced modules focused on mixing techniques and mastering professional equipment.

F©lix Darga further conveyed that after three days of intensive training, the results obtained have brought satisfaction to the organizers. "At the start of the session, some participants did not yet master the basics of mixing. Today, the progress is visible and all the stakeholders involved, from trainers to learners, say they are satisfied with the level achieved," he confided.

Through this initiative, the Cause Art Association reaffirms its commitment to the professionalization of cultural actors and the promotion of Burkinabe music. By focusing on DJ training, the association intends to make these ambassadors of sound essential drivers for increasing the visibility and consumption of national musical works in leisure spaces and beyond.
