Ouagadougou: The Association of Muslim Students in Burkina Faso (AEEMB), in collaboration with the Circle for Islamic Studies, Research and Training (CERFI), organized the 31st edition of the Bobo-Dioulasso Islamic summer camp from July 26 to August 8, 2026, focusing on the theme 'The Muslim child and African traditions'.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the closing ceremony was held this Saturday, attended by parents, friends, and acquaintances. A total of 215 campers participated in this year's event, which took place across two sites: Ouezzin-ville for site 1 and sector 2 for site 2. The camp offered a variety of activities over two weeks, including learning the Holy Quran, Islamic education, and African traditions, as well as educational and creative activities.

Various educational and sporting games were organized, with an emphasis on values, discipline, and camaraderie. Hamad Konombo, Secretary General of the Houet provincial office of CERFI, highlighted the significance of the summer camp as a critical initiative for children's education and instruction. He emphasized the camp's role in transmitting Islamic values and helping children understand their environment.

Konombo praised the trainers and organizing committee for their efforts and encouraged parents to continue supporting their children in upholding the values they had learned. He urged the children to be "respectful, honest, and helpful," while expressing hopes for peace and security in Burkina Faso.

The camp director, Madi Zongo, reported that the camp's activities took place under good conditions. Speaking on behalf of the campers, Sharif Kounta expressed gratitude to AEEMB and CERFI for the camp's success, noting that the lessons learned would enhance their knowledge, particularly regarding African traditions.
