Bama: 1,773 candidates gathered in Bama to commence their Primary School Certificate (CEP) and sixth-grade entrance exams, officially launched by F©lix Bay©, the prefect and president of the special delegation of the commune of Bama, on Tuesday at the Vall©e du Kou A school center. The event witnessed participation from administrative, security, and customary authorities, alongside other stakeholders in the education system.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch was marked by the presence of notable figures, including the canton chief of Bama, Oumar Sanou, the gendarmerie brigade commander, Sibiri Millogo, and the first vice-president of the special delegation, Kassoum Sanou. Heads of the Basic Education Districts (CEB) of Bama I and II, Jean-Marie Bond© and Ladji Ouattara, respectively, also oversaw the commencement of the exams across various rooms. Guided by the center's president, J©r´me Sanou, the delegation participated in the national flag-raising ceremony at 7 a.m. and thereafter encouraged students to approach the tests with concentration and confidence.

Statistics from education officials reveal that 1,810 candidates, comprising 770 boys and 1,040 girls, registered for the exams in the municipality's 11 centers. However, 37 absences were recorded, with 22 boys and 15 girls not present, reducing the actual number of examinees to 1,773. CEB officials assured that necessary arrangements concerning transportation, meals, and lodging were in place to facilitate the smooth conduct of the exams, with security forces ensuring safety.

The regional education directorate has set a target success rate of 95% for this session. Nevertheless, educational stakeholders in Bama are aspiring to surpass this benchmark to reinforce the municipality's reputation as a center of educational excellence and resilience.
