Hounde: The Hounde municipal police held a public conference on their missions on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Hounde. This event was part of the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of municipal police forces in Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference marked the end of the 72-hour commemoration. Several individuals who work daily with the municipal police participated. Approximately ten participants received helmets as a reward for correctly answering the quiz on the conference's theme.
The Commander of the Hounde Municipal Police, Bakiebie Bamouni, led the presentation. He outlined the municipal police's responsibilities in matters of security, public order, hygiene, safety, and morality. He also reminded attendees of the judicial police officer status of municipal agents.
Commander Bamouni expressed his delight at the strong mobilization of the population throughout the activities. He thanked them, stating that the 72 hours were intended to show appreciation to the public for their cooperation and to encourage them to take greater ownership of the missions of the municipal police.
He noted that the organization allowed them to gauge the extent of the public's enthusiasm for its municipal police and expressed hope for strengthened collaboration so that the municipal police can continue to effectively serve the community.
The conference was opened and closed by Nazi Bani, First Vice-President of the Hounde Special Municipal Delegation, in the presence of the patron, Salam Ouedraogo, Provincial President of the Organization of Road Transporters of Faso (OTRAF) for the Tuy region.
