Initial military training: GIFA delivers 500 personnel to the National Fire Brigade

Ouagadougou: The 2023 contingent of the National Fire Brigade (BNSP) has completed its Initial Military Training (FMI) carried out within the Armed Forces Training Group (GIFA) in Bobo-Dioulasso. The official flag presentation ceremony took place on the morning of Friday July 5, 2024 within the grounds of Camp Ouézzin Coulibaly in Bobo-Dioulasso.There are a total of 500 staff including 37 girls with an average age of 22 years and a level of study ranging from 4th grade to university level to have successfully completed this training which lasted 6 months. According to the GIFA commander, Battalion Chief Yves Bambara, the vintage followed an FMI structured in three phases.It is about adaptation, hardening and consolidation of acquired knowledge. They underwent training modules such as military and sports physical training, shooting instruction, weaponry and improvised explosive device instruction. The training, according to Yves Bambara, was meticulously administered.'These young people achieved with hon or and dignity the objectives of the training which consisted of instilling in them a military spirit and making them fighters ,' welcomed Battalion Chief Bambara. The first head of GIFA also invited the new soldiers of the 2nd class to persevere in effort and discipline in order to meet the challenges that await them.Yves Bambara also expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the training. Among others, he cited the military hierarchy, the administrative, religious and customary authorities and the GIFA executives and instructors. The day's ceremony was also marked by demonstration sessions of the knowledge acquired by the new soldiers and a military parade.It should be noted that these young soldiers will be made available to the National Firefighters School (ENASAP) for the specific training of firefighters.Source: Burkina Information Agency
