Interfaith Leaders Unite at Solenzo’s Grand Mosque for Ramadan Prayers

Solenzo: Traditional leaders, Christians, and administrative officials gathered at the Grand Mosque for Ramadan prayers. Traditional, Christian, and administrative leaders took part in Ramadan prayer on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Grand Friday Mosque in Solenzo. By 8 a.m., the mosque square was filled with people.

According to Burkina Information Agency, carpets and mats were laid out, and the Muslim faithful took their places, awaiting the arrival of the Grand Imam to begin the prayer. At around 8:15 a.m., the High Commissioner of the Banwa Province, Sanfi enal e Joseph Sirima, accompanied by officials from other religious denominations and some department heads, arrived at the prayer place to support Muslims during this Ramadan celebration.

The prayer began upon the arrival of the Grand Imam of Solenzo, El Hadj BS Zoumana Konat e. His son, El Hadj Mohamed Konat e, led this morning's prayer before thousands of Muslim worshippers. At the end of the two rak'ahs, followed by the imam's supplication, the floor was given to traditional and Christian leaders for their blessings.

Social cohesion, understanding, and peace are the key words of the messages conveyed. The High Commissioner, for his part, called on all believers to set aside ethnic and religious divisions. According to him, the 30 days of penance should lead us to purity and tolerance for harmonious coexistence.

Grand Imam El Hadj BS Zoumana Konat e offered blessings for the President of Burkina Faso and members of the government, as well as for the strength and success of the security forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in the fight against terrorism.
