Toece: The Muslim community in the commune of Toece celebrated the Ramadan festival on Friday, March 20, 2026, at their usual prayer site, marking the occasion with a focus on social cohesion and unity. The event was attended by delegations from administrative authorities and representatives from the Catholic, Protestant communities, as well as custodians of tradition.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event concluded with the Muslim faithful expressing their intentions for peace, national unity, and the well-being of the entire population. Father Georges Bilgo, representing the Catholic Church, extended his wishes for a happy holiday to the Muslims and praised the interfaith harmony present among different religious groups. He expressed hope for the continued strengthening of these relationships.
Pastor Alidou Ouedraogo echoed these sentiments, highlighting the prevailing spirit of unity observed in religious interactions. The President of the Special Delegation of Toece, Hanouna Nana, urged various communities to come together for lasting peace and to eliminate religious discrimination. He concluded by wishing all Muslims a happy Eid and emphasized the importance of peace in Burkina Faso.
