Intermediate Class Participants Equipped with Citizenship Skills in Sourou

Sourou: Beginning on January 10, 2026, this first phase made it possible to provide theoretical and practical modules to the learners concerned. For Zaratou Traor©, a second-year student at the Tougan municipal high school and a participant in this session, these six weeks were very enriching. "We learned a lot, especially patriotic values, solidarity, love for our neighbor, respect for hierarchy, and resilience, whatever the situation," she stated. "We have also learned how to be good citizens," she added, before inviting her classmates in the next groups to be diligent and focused so as not to miss any of the lessons.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ECP focal point, Abdoulaye Touze Zina, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of this first phase. "Everything went smoothly. I commend the commitment and determination of the supervisors. Thanks to their professionalism, all the participating students expressed their satisfaction," he stated. Mr. Zina indicated that, for this first phase, a total of 2,889 students from nine schools were involved. He announced that the second phase will be launched soon and will involve the remaining schools in the province. According to him, more than 1,400 students will participate in this next session. He also reassured that all the modules provided, as well as the physical exercises, are adapted to the age of the learners and present no risk to the students.
