Ioba Artisanal Miners Contribute 10 Million CFA Francs to Faso Mebo Initiative

Ioba: A group of artisanal miners from the Ioba province has made a significant contribution to the Faso Mebo initiative by donating ten million CFA francs. This generous donation was presented to the High Commissioner, Innocents Ouattara, in a ceremony held in the meeting room of the High Commission in Dano.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation of gold panners, led by Carlos Some and Sawadogo Tassere, represented mining communities from Dano, Dagbere, Gueguere, Gnikpiere, Memer, and Orpoune. The miners expressed their desire to support national sovereignty and contribute to the country’s development in response to a call from the head of state, Captain Ibrahim Traore.

“We want to participate in the building of our country and support the highest authorities in the fight for our sovereignty,” the leaders stated. They also took the opportunity to thank Innocents Ouattara for his support and encouraged other artisanal miners in the province to join in the development efforts.

High Commissioner Ouattara expressed his gratitude for this patriotic act and assured the donors that their contribution would be allocated to development projects in the province through the activities of the Faso Mebo agency. He emphasized that the progress of these initiatives would be regularly assessed and reported to the public by the provincial technical committee.

In addition to their contribution to Faso Mebo, the artisanal miners participated in a local initiative led by the governor of the Djoro region, donating 755,000 CFA francs to aid in the acquisition of an ambulance for the Gaoua fire brigade.
