IOBA/DISSIHN: At Least 593 Affected Households in Ouizine Are Receiving Food and Non-Food Items from CONASUR

Ouagadougou: The Burkinabe government, through the National Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CONASUR), provided food and non-food assistance on Thursday, July 30, 2026, to 593 affected households in the village of Ouizine, in the commune of Dissihn, following a tornado that caused significant damage.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donations were presented by Benjamin Nana, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Dissihn municipality. "Following the disaster that struck your village in early May, the government, through the National Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CONASUR), is providing you with food and non-food items to help you rebuild. This gesture demonstrates the government's solidarity during this difficult time," Mr. Nana told the victims.

FamanFarma, head of the municipal social service in Dissihn, reported that a tornado struck Ouizine on the night of May 7-8, 2026. It caused the destruction of several homes, injured people and caused significant material damage.

This government assistance aims to support households affected by the disaster and help them cope with its consequences. The distribution is also part of the Faso Mªbo initiative.

The PDS of Dissihn reassured the people of Ouizine of the State's availability to stand by them until a total return to normal.
