Moscow: The first session of the Russian-Burkinabe intergovernmental commission for economic, trade, scientific, and technical cooperation is scheduled to take place on September 16, 2026, in Moscow. This announcement was made by the Russian Ministry of Energy following a meeting involving the Russian delegation within the commission.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the participants deliberated on the priority areas of bilateral cooperation and discussed organizational aspects for the upcoming meeting in Moscow. The agenda includes topics related to the development of the legal and contractual framework, trade and economic cooperation, energy, industry, agriculture, education, public health, and epidemic prevention.

Russia has expressed its readiness to offer technological solutions aimed at developing and modernizing electrical infrastructure in Burkina Faso and other African nations. Additionally, promising areas for industrial cooperation were highlighted, such as the manufacture of agricultural machinery, unmanned civil aviation systems, and the pharmaceutical industry.

Currently, 72 Burkinabe students are enrolled in Russian universities. By the end of the year, the Southern Federal University plans to deploy Russian professors to Burkina Faso, further strengthening educational ties between the two countries.
