Ioba/Gueguere: The PDS Urges Every Citizen to Engage in the Promotion of Local Products

Hounde: On the occasion of the launch of the first phase of the 3rd edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Gueguere, Jacob Bazemo, urged each citizen to resolutely engage in the promotion of local products during a ceremony of raising the national colors, at the Gueguere town hall.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was attended by representatives of the commune's institutions, united around the ideals of patriotism and civic engagement. Jacob Bazemo, the PDS (Democratic and Socialist Party) representative for the commune of Gueguere, delivered the message from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.

In his address, the Head of State urged the population to prioritize the consumption of local products, particularly food, and to promote economic patriotism. He also lamented the heavy reliance on imported food products, to the detriment of national agricultural production.

Placed under the theme: "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let's cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption", this first phase of the JEPPC is intended as a call to collective action.

According to Mr. Bazemo, "every stakeholder must resolutely commit to promoting local products." He also urged the population to abandon imported products in favor of those grown by Burkinabe farmers.

He added that the slogan of this edition, "My plate, my pride", reflects the authorities' desire to bring about a change in behavior at all levels of society.
