Burkina Faso/Sanitation: Leo Club Ouagadougou Reflets Donates 200 Trash Cans to Joseph Ki-Zerbo University

Ouagadougou: The Leo Club Ouagadougou Reflets donated 200 trash cans to Joseph Ki-Zerbo University (UJKZ) during a cleanliness day marked by a campus cleaning operation, aiming to promote a healthy and sustainable environment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this donation of sanitation equipment by the Leo Club Ouagadougou Reflets is intended to significantly improve the living and learning environment of students while reinforcing good hygiene practices on the university site. Armel Dialla, the club's representative, emphasized the importance of this initiative.

The organizers highlighted that these 200 bins are to be distributed equally among other universities in Ouagadougou. This action is a concrete step towards establishing a lasting culture of cleanliness.

Armel Dialla mentioned that this initiative reflects the commitment of young people to actively participate in community development through practical activities, particularly in sanitation and awareness. This effort is part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation, supported by the Presidential Initiative for Community Development.

The university's Vice-President for Education, BSle Bayala, praised the initiative, recognizing it as a significant contribution to the campus cleanup. He encouraged students to adopt responsible behaviors to ensure the sustainability of the improvements made.

Fousseni Kindo, the representative of the High Council for Communication, noted that this activity serves as "a form of citizen communication," where each individual becomes an agent of social change.

Similarly, the Ministry in charge of Sports representative commended the creation of a "green brigade" at the university, aimed at strengthening awareness and civic responsibility.

The organizers urged students to make sanitation a daily responsibility, emphasizing that a clean environment relies primarily on civic behavior.

The Leo Club Ouagadougou Reflets is a youth volunteer organization based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and affiliated with Lions Clubs International. It focuses on social and environmental projects, particularly sanitation and promoting hygiene in universities.
