Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Ioba, Innocents Ouattara, on Monday invited the population to participate in the anti-larva days on August 8 and 9 in order to contribute to the destruction of larval breeding grounds in homes and concessions to prevent malaria. The High Commissioner of the Ioba province presided over the ceremony of raising the national colors at the Provincial Directorate of Homeland Construction (DPCP) in Dano.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony mobilized the constituted bodies, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and the municipal High Intensity Labor (HIMO) brigade. The Republican Security Company (CRS) stationed in Dano carried out the military ceremony. The day's host, the Provincial Director of Construction for the Homeland (DCPC) of Ioba, Ilyass Sawadogo, expressed his honor at having his department selected for the national pavilion's raising ceremony and presented the Ioba DPCP and its missions.
The Ioba DPCP comprises two departments: the Works Department and the Community Support Department. Its role is to oversee the on-site monitoring of routine, periodic, and emergency maintenance work initiated by the ministry in the province. It must supervise road paving work and conduct inventories of damage to the classified road network and rural tracks in the province. It is also tasked with providing technical support to any individual wishing to maintain a section or structure.
The High Commissioner expressed his satisfaction with the turnout at all ceremonies, which he said demonstrates commitment to the symbols of the Nation. Mr. Ouattara recalled the events and highlights that took place during July 2026, including the celebration of Tree Day and the successful baccalaureate session. Ioba was also designated as the second training center in the Dj´r´ region for mandatory patriotic immersion (IPO), receiving 767 high school graduates for the current IPO program.
The High Commissioner informed the participants about the upcoming anti-larval days on August 8th and 9th. He addressed the population on malaria and dengue fever, urging them to contribute to the fight against these diseases by destroying larval breeding sites in their homes and compounds.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the new Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Dano, the Director of the General Education College (CEG) of Yabogane, and an agent newly assigned to the provincial directorate in charge of culture of Ioba.
