Kadiogo: 95 retired members of the Defense and Security Forces have embarked on a retraining program in agriculture and livestock farming. The initiative was officially launched by Quartermaster Colonel Major Yamba Leonard Ouoba, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs, in Ouagadougou. This effort aims to enhance the post-retirement living conditions of these personnel.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the training includes 90 soldiers and 5 police officers and spans three weeks. It is conducted in two cities, with sessions starting on November 24, 2025, in Ouagadougou, and scheduled to begin on December 1 in Bobo-Dioulasso. Quartermaster Colonel Major Ouoba emphasized that the program seeks to ensure the socio-professional reintegration of the participants, providing them with necessary skills to adapt to civilian life.

The program's sponsor, Sibiri Oumar Compaore, highlighted the significance of acquiring new skills for a successful career transition. He expressed hope that the training would facilitate formal and informal exchanges, benefiting all participants. Trainer Ibrahim Sory noted the importance of this transition from military duties to agricultural tasks, linking it to broader goals of peace, social cohesion, and economic recovery.

Lieutenant-Colonel Jerome Zoukabapan, central director of human resources and mobilization, praised the initiative and underscored the need for retirees to prepare for their new phase of life. The training covers various modules, including modern agricultural production techniques, livestock farming practices, farm management, and soil fertility control.
