Kanyal: The locality of Kanyal, located in the commune of Imasgo, hosted on Saturday an important ceremony for the inauguration of a brand new school building and the celebration of academic excellence.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this landmark event took place in an atmosphere of solemnity and shared pride. Held under the patronage of the National Coordinator of the Presidential Initiative for Community Development, Commander Marcel Medah, who was unable to attend and was represented by Pema Neya, special envoy to the Presidency of Faso in the Nando region, the ceremony was presided over by the President of the special delegation of the commune of Imasgo, Aminata Kabor.
The new school building includes a classroom and a teachers' office. It strengthens the capacity of the local primary school, which previously only had two classrooms, thus ending the difficult learning conditions held in thatched huts.
This achievement embodies the vision championed by Captain Ibrahim Traor, who urges citizens to become the actors of their own development through the Presidential Initiative for Community Development.
The main donor to this project is the STAT-DES consulting firm, headed by Dr. Babou Bako and Boubi Bako, both statistical and economic engineers and natives of the village of Kanyal. Their investment, combined with the mobilization of local stakeholders who provided the necessary data, illustrates the strength of the partnership between the private sector and the local population.
The head of the Imasgo basic education district (CCeb) praised the quality of the project, which was completed on time. Expressing his deep gratitude to the authorities present, he noted that the district achieved a 93.14% pass rate on the CEP (Certificate of Primary Education) this year, with the Kanyal school playing a significant role in this achievement.
He also expressed the hope that this example would be replicated in other schools facing a critical lack of basic infrastructure.
The Chair of the Special Delegation, Aminata Kabor, for her part, called on parents and teachers to jealously guard this shared heritage. She urged the students to persevere, reminding them that they are the future leaders and builders of the nation.
This memorable day ended with heartfelt tributes to the personalities present, including the Honorable Member of Parliament Marc A. Gamsor, to the people of Kanyal gathered within the Development Association (CRDL), as well as to all the partners and well-wishers whose unwavering commitment allows the torch of education to be raised high in the commune of Imasgo.
It should be noted that the best students were rewarded with school kits and bicycles.
